BOSTON -- A surgeon at Milford Regional Medical Center accidentally removed a patient's kidney instead of an inflamed gallbladder. According to the MetroWest Daily News it took the hospital three days to realize a mistake was made. The patient is reportedly doing well and hospital administrators were standing behind the surgeon, whose name is being withheld. State officials said this was a rare case and they have full confidence in the hospital.
