The funeral for a teen who was gunned down Sunday in the South End is being held in Roxbury Tuesday.

NewsCenter 5's Jim Boyd reported that Abdirauf Abdulahi, 19, had just graduated from Concord Carlisle High School.

"He was just such a good kid. Everybody loved him. He was loved by everybody," a friend of the teen said.

Abdulahi was gunned down late Sunday night in the South End, at the corner of Dwight and Shawmut streets. He collapsed a block away in front of his apartment building, the victim of a single gunshot to the chest. He was later pronounced dead.

Police arrested two 15-year-olds after the shooting, charging one as an accessory.

Eloy Sierra, of Randolph, was ordered held without bail on adult murder charges.

Police are investigating a motive for the shooting. Abdulahi's death comes after his family fled Somalia for a better life in the United States.

"They thought they were coming to a safe place where they can raise their children. They were finally happy to be away from the violence and the civil war, and here we are," said another friend.

Abdulahi was scheduled to leave Boston next month for West Virginia after winning a scholarship to the University of Charleston.

Abdulahi will be buried in Canton.
