A teenager on her way to graduation practice at Masconomet Regional High School was involved in a three-car crash in Middleton Thursday.

NewsCenter 5's David Boeri reported that Amanda Reyes, 18, was seriously injured in the accident at about 8 a.m.

"She smashed into a tree. I tried to knock on the door, but she wasn't saying anything. I went to the other side, and I went to the window to try to lean in, but she wasn't saying anything," witness Krista Peoples said.

She was flown to Massachusetts General Hospital. Three other people were injured in the accident, but their injuries were less serious.

"She sustained serious injuries, and she was (flown) to Mass General Hospital. The three other individuals from the two other cars have been transported to local hospitals for observations," Middleton Police Department Chief Paul Armitage said.

The driver of one of the other cars is believed to be a cafeteria worker at Reyes' school.

Reyes' mother is a math teacher at the high school.
