BOSTON -- Drivers in the Northeast are among some of the worst in the country, according to a test conducted by GMAC Insurance.Rhode Island drivers scored the lowest of all states, with an average 20-question test score of 75. Drivers in Oregon ranked the highest with an average score of 90.6.Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey and District of Columbia drivers were ranked just above last-place Rhode Island. Vermont was the only Northeast state to rank in the top 25.
About one in 11 drivers would fail the state driving exam, the test results showed.The test asked 5,288 licensed drivers 20 questions typically asked during a driver's examination. A score of 70 or better is needed to pass a state driving test.Take The Test
