NewsCenter 5's Jack Harper reports that the body of Robert Whitney, 58, was found in a home on Lake Winnipesaukee in Meredith. His death was considered suspicious. Whitney's car is unaccounted for.

In a strange twist to the case of Jonathan Rizzo, a 19-year-old Kingston, Mass., man missing since Friday, Rizzo's car was found outside the home. Kingston police and friends and family of Rizzo said that there was no obvious connection between the missing man and Whitney.

An autopsy on Whitney was being performed Tuesday.

"We're hopeful that after that procedure, there'll be additional information available about the cause of Mr. Whitney's death," Assistant District Attorney Chris Carter said. "At the same time, we're doing everything within our power to locate the gold Saturn sedan that was owned by MR. Whitney and at this time is still unaccounted for."

At the New Hampshire scene, police recovered Rizzo's Volkswagen Jetta. Rizzo, a George Washington University student was home for the summer and was last seen Friday night after leaving the Weathervane restaurant in Plymouth, Mass., where he worked.

New Hampshire police are now searching for Whitney's car, a gold 1994 Saturn with New Hampshire plates 424-739. The driver may be a man in his 20s or 30s with blond or brown hair.

Police urged anyone who saw the vehicle to use sever caution and notify authorities immediately.

Whitney was a contractor and former Concord, N.H., city councilor.

Rizzo's parents announced a $10,000 reward for any information leading to the safe return of their son.

"There's a feeling that perhaps Jonathan may be more local, that perhaps he wasn't in the car all the way up to New Hampshire," Bryan Parrish of St. Mary's Church said. "That's the sense that I've got just from conversations with neighbors and friends."

Rizzo is described as about 5-foot-9, 165 to 170 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. He graduated from Boston College High School in 2000 and is entering his sophomore year at George Washington University.

About 200 friends and family members have blanketed the Kingston area with flyers with Rizzo's picture. A toll-free hotline has been set up for any leads on the case: 1-800-774-8858.
