Parking And Road Closures On The Fourth
Due to the size of this event, parking restrictions and road closings are in effect. Organizers suggest that you take public transportation to the event.
There will be no Parking on Memorial Drive inbound and outbound lanes from the BU Bridge to the Longfellow Bridge at 12:01 am on the 4th to 6:30 pm on the 5th. There is no parking on Storrow Drive on July 4.
Road Closings on July 4
12:01 a.m.
No parking on Memorial Drive from Mass. Ave. to the Longfellow Bridge on both sides of the roadway.
4:30 a.m.
Storrow Drive closed to westbound traffic from the Lee Pool to Berkeley Street. This will include the entrance from Charles Street Circle. Westbound traffic may re-enter Storrwo Drive westbound by heading down Charles Street, to Beacon Street, to the westbound entrance at Berkeley Street.
7:30 a.m.
Storrow Drive closed to traffic in both directions from the Leverett Circle to Kenmore Square.
No parking at Magazine Beach.
Pedestrian footbridge at Charles Street Circle going to the Esplanade, closed. Pedestrian footbridge from Beacon Street going to the Esplanade, closed.
Muger Way at Beacon Street closed to all pedestrian traffic.
Noon
Longfellow Bridge, southbound closed.
Main Street, Cambridge from Third Street to Longfellow Bridge, closed.
Ames Street from Main Street to Memorial Drive, closed
Wadsworth and Amherst Streets, closed.
4:30 p.m.
Longfellow bridge in both directions, closed.
Memorial Drive in both directiosn from mass. Ave. to the Longfellow Bridge, closed.
Land Blvd. from Binney Street to Longfellow Bridge, closed.
Hayward, Carlton, Charlotte's Way and Dock Streets in Cambridge, closed.
6:00 p.m.
Memorial Drive from Mass. Ave. to the B.U. Bridge, closed.
Mass. Ave. Bridge, closed in both directions from Beacon Street in Boston to Vassar Street in Cambridge.
10:00 p.m.
Third Street in Cambridge becomes one way from Main Street to Msgr. O'Brien Highway
Craigie Draw Bridge to remain closed for two hours.
Smaller boats that can pass under bridge while in the down position will be allowed to pass.
Motorists are urged to avoid traveling in the areas in and around the Hatch Shell during this holiday period, especially as concert-goers head home after the celebration.
