Police Warn St. Pat's Revelers: No Public Drinking

Authorites To Enforce 'Zero Tolerance'

POSTED: 7:24 am EST March 17, 2006

Boston Police have a message for anyone planning to attend the Saint Patrick's Parade in Southie Sunday: Don't even think about drinking in public.

Officials told the Boston Herald they're enforcing a strict zero-tolerance policy.

Meantime, there's a new controversy surrounding the parade. A group of gay marriage advocates plan on walking the route gathering signatures in support of gay marriage.

Parade organizers accuse the group of "hijacking" a family event.
