BOSTON -- As officials continued to investigate the slaying of a graduate student found dead in a New York field last month, the victim's family on Friday urged anyone with information to contact the police.Imette St. Guillen's body was found strangled, suffocated and raped in a deserted Brooklyn field on Feb. 25. Darryl Littlejohn, a bouncer at The Falls bar in Manhattan, was the last person seen with St. Guillen, 24, outside the bar hours before her slaying."As the police continue their thorough investigation, we again encourage anyone who has any information on Imette's murder to please contact the New York City Police Department right away. Anything you know or saw -- no matter how small -- might be crucial to the investigation. We have the utmost faith in the NYC Police Department and the good people of New York, and we are confident that whoever committed this crime will be brought to justice," St. Guillen's family said in a statement.Earlier Friday, the New York Post reported the blanket that St. Guillen's body was wrapped in came from The Falls bar. The connection was made one day after Littlejohn, who has been eyed in St. Guillen's slaying, appeared in a lineup for an October 2005 Forest Hills sex assault. The rape survivor did not pick Littlejohn, 41, of Jamaica, Queens, out of the lineup."The complainant failed to pick anybody out of the lineup, so there will be no charges concerning this allegation," his attorney, Kevin O'Donnell, said. "My client's reaction is that he maintains his innocence. He feels that he's a scapegoat."Littlejohn remained in custody on a parole violation.According to the New York Post, semen found on the blanket that was wrapped around St. Guillen's body did not belong to Littlejohn. It's believed the blanket came from the basement of The Falls bar and the bodily fluid could have come from an earlier sexual encounter.Crime scene technicians who went back to Littlejohn's house Thursday night left with two bags of evidence. Detectives returned to the neighborhood on Friday to talk to residents. DNA testing has come back inconclusive.Friends of the St. Guillen family plan to hold a "Justice for Imette" rally outside of The Falls bar at 8 p.m. Friday.
