A bouncer being questioned in connection with the slaying of graduate student in New York City will return to Rikers Island after a woman failed to identify him in a police lineup.

NewsCenter 5's Sean Kelly reported that Darryl Littlejohn, 41, of Jamaica, Queens, has not officially been charged in connection with Imette St. Guillen's death. Her nude, raped and strangled body was found in a deserted Brooklyn field Feb. 25.

Littlejohn is also being looked at in connection with several unsolved rape cases in the area.

Littlejohn arrived at the Queens County Courthouse Thursday under tight security to appear in a police lineup for a rape case that dates back to October 2005.

"My client adamantly maintains his innocence. He feels he is a scapegoat. His picture has been all over the paper, all over the media, nationally. So, he is the easy target right now," said Kevin O'Donnell, Littlejohn's attorney.

The alleged victim failed to identify anyone in the lineup Thursday as her attacker.

"She looked for about two or three minutes, she had everybody stand up, she had everybody yell out, 'Shut up.' She still couldn't pick him out. In fact, when my client approached window, she said the perpetrator was quite bigger than him," O'Donnell said.

Littlejohn was arrested on parole violation charges on Tuesday. He is being held at Rikers Island Jail in New York City.

In recent days, investigators have collected evidence in the St. Guillen case from the Manhattan bar where Littlejohn worked, as well as from his home and from a van connected to him.

"Obviously, it is a heinous crime and my heart goes out to the family of the victim up in Boston. But he's the likely target. He was there that night, he is the one with the record. But it is important to note that he has no history whatsoever of any abuse against women, including sexual abuse or anything related to harassment," O'Donnell said.

St. Guillen, 24, was last seen alive at The Falls bar in SoHo talking to Littlejohn, a convicted bank robber, who worked there as a bouncer.
