Police said that 46-year old Timothy Gallant followed a 19-year-old girl walking on Main Street. They said that he then got out of his van and grabbed her. She managed to break free and called police.
Gallant has been charged with attempted kidnapping and assault to commit a felony.
The attempted kidnapping happened not far from Warren, where lifeguard Bish disappeared last June.
Police said that Gallant fits the description of the man Bish's mother saw at Comins Pond the day before Molly vanished.
"I know that the striking resemblance is concerting to me and the police," Magi Bish, Molly's mother, said.
Gallant has reportedly been questioned twice in the Bish case because he fits the composite so well.
He is being held at Hampden County House of Correction and is scheduled back in court on Tuesday for a dangerousness hearing.
