Vets Nurse Mini Donkey Back To Health

Donkey Attacked By Dogs Or Wild Animals

UPDATED: 8:18 pm EST February 16, 2006

Veterinarians in New Hampshire are nursing a 5-year-old miniature donkey back to health after predators attacked him.

It is unclear if dogs or wild animals attacked Mr. Bigglesworth on Feb. 5 in Milton, N.H. His family rushed him to a veterinarian in Dover, N.H., where Dr. Deme Erickson removed Mr. Bigglesworth's mangled tail and tended to hundreds of puncture wounds and tears.

Although he was in critical condition for three days, vets said Mr. Bigglesworth is recovering.

Mr. Bigglesworth's care has resulted in large medical bills for his family.
