BOSTON -- The British man whose wife and daughter were found shot to death in their Hopkinton home was not among the mourners who gathered Tuesday to pay their respects to his slain family members.Neil Entwistle, 27, did not attend the wake for his wife, Rachel Entwistle, 27, and his daughter, 9-month-old Lillian. The victims were found shot to death in their suburban home on Sunday.Family and friends arrived at the Shepherd Funeral Home in Kingston to begin saying goodbye. Rachel Entwistle's mother said that her daughter loved life and loved being a teacher. A family friend said that when Lillian was born in April, she became the essence of Rachel Entwistle's life. The family has made no mention of Neil Entwistle, who remained a "person of interest" in the investigation. Officials said that they did not believe that Neil Entwistle would attend the funerals, which were planned for Wednesday in Plymouth.Earlier Tuesday, a chief inspector from the Nottinghamshire police arrived at Neil Entwistle's family home in Worksop, England.A few moments later, Neil Entwistle left the home, followed by his parents. They made no comment as they got into a car and drove off. Police then said that there would be no activity at the home for at least two days.Neil Entwistle's BMW sport utility vehicle has been towed from Logan International Airport, where the car has been parked since Jan. 20. Sources said that the SUV was taken to the Hopkinton Police Department, where it was being examined.Massachusetts investigators questioned Neil Entwistle at the U.S. Embassy in London on Friday."This is a very active investigation. Authorities continue to follow up on a number of leads on several different fronts, and are making consistent progress," Middlesex District Attorney Martha Coakley said. "As we have said, it is important that investigators not jump to any conclusions, but rather develop all the evidence through a thorough and exhaustive process."
