Local detectives are back from England, but whether they interviewed Neil Entwistle about his slain wife and baby, they're not telling.

Rachel Entwistle, 27, and her 9-month-old baby, Lillian, were found dead in their Hopkinton, Mass., home on Jan. 22. Both had been shot with a small-caliber firearm. Her husband, Neil, left for England the same weekend and has been staying there with his parents ever since.

NewsCenter 5's Shiba Russell reported that published reports indicate investigators are not even close to cracking the case. She said there are still many questions in the investigation and, as the days drag on, people are slowing coming forward, revealing what they know of the Entwistles.

"The entire family is overwhelmed by the loss of Rachel and Lillian and the events of last weekend," family spokesperson Joe Flaherty said.

A family friend and former state police commander, Flaherty spoke on behalf of Rachel and Lillian Entwistle's family on Sunday. His statement never mentioned Neil. A similar decision was made by the family for their death notices -- there was no mention of the British-born husband.

"With the birth of Rachel's daughter, Lillian Rose Entwistle, last April, Rachel shared her greatest love, that of being a mother," Flaherty said.

It is unclear whether local investigators who returned from the UK were able to interview Entwistle. Middlesex County District Attorney's office investigators are not commenting on the case. They returned without manking any arrests.

Few people in England have talked about the case. The Boston Herald reported that Neil Entwistle's ex-landlord called Neil "a real pain." John Shepard said he wanted to install a new kitchen and bath in the home he rented to Neil, but Neil wouldn't let anyone inside. The London Times reported that Neil Entwistle said he would return to Plymouth, Mass., for the funerals of his wife and daughter, which are scheduled for Wednesday.
