Entwistle Agrees To Talk To Authorities

Husband Says He's Not Sure About Funerals

It's been nearly a week since the murders of a Hopkinton, Mass., mother and her 9-month old baby. The victims' husband and father is still overseas and not a suspect, and it's unclear whether Neil Entwistle will return home for the funerals of his wife and child.

NewsCenter 5's Gail Huff reported that Entwistle told authorities he does not know whether he will return for the funerals.

On Friday, police in Nottinghamshire, England said Neil Entwistle has agreed to go to the U.S. Embassy in London to answer questions about the murders of his wife and baby in Massachusetts.

A police spokeswoman said Entwistle -- a British citizen -- was driven to the embassy by officers Friday morning, but was not under arrest. The spokeswoman said Entwistle agreed voluntarily to speak to American authorities.

Meanwhile, detectives from the a Massachusetts district attorney's office said that they are now talking to customers who dealt with the Entwistles on the Internet.

Neil, 27, and his slain wife, Rachel Entwistle, 27, registered a business with eBay called SR Publications. On Jan. 9, eBay suspended their account after a 48-hour period of what the company called "trading irregularities." Numerous customers had complained they were being scammed.

Rachel and the couple's daughter, Lillian, were found dead in a bedroom on Sunday night, both shot with a small-caliber handgun. Neil Entwistle left the country for his native England late Friday or early Saturday. Entwistle's BMW was still parked at Logan International Airport, where four Massachusetts detectives boarded a plane for England two days ago.

Authorities in England said, "Neil Entwistle is not a suspect. He is being treated by U.S. authorities as a potential witness. There are no extradition proceedings in relation to him. On that basis, the police in England and Wales have no legal power to take executive action. In these circumstances, it is not our role to comment on speculation regarding his whereabouts."

The Massachusetts District Attorney's office has not issued any arrest warrants in the case. Rachel Entwistle's family lives in the Carver, Mass., area. They haven't commented publicly but said they will issue a statement soon.
