As SportsCenter 5's Mike Lynch discovered, Cox has not only topped the great Blake Bellefeuille to become Framingham High's all-time leading scorer -- male or female -- Cox has also become the state's all-time leading girls scorer. "I was so excited," Cox said about breaking the record. "I was a little worried when I was 30 points away. But I just said to go out and do what you know how to do." After torching the nets for 52 goals last year, she has piled up 45 more this year, and thanks to a 3-goal, 3-assist game last week, earned her 303rd career point to set the state milestone. Her coach, Dennis Moran, said, "Katie is my Doug Flutie. She wasn't really noticed until high school."
