A 4-year-old Hanover boy has been found after he was reported missing from his yard Monday afternoon.

NewsCenter 5's Amalia Barreda reported that a neighbor found Jacob Moore, 4, hiding under a tarp in the yard.

"He was hiding under there and he pulled a couple of tarps over him -- maybe from the noise of the dogs and everything. He was scared; he pulled the tarp over him. Fortunately in checking the rear-area of the house again, they found him. EMTs are checking him out now and he appears to be OK," said Hanover Police Chief Paul Hayes.

Police started searching for the boy at 55 Hanover St. at about 2:30 p.m. Monday.

"I just grabbed him and hugged him," Jacob's mother, Joan Moore said.

"He was home the whole time. He is safe," said Jacob's sister, Renay.

State Police used air patrols and K-9 units to search for him near routes 3, 53 and 139. They were concerned about not finding him before night fell.
