Sisters Killed In Crash Laid To Rest

Cause Of Crash Still Under Investigation

Friends and family gathered Monday to say goodbye to two Southborough sisters who died in a car crash last week.

Shauna Murphy, 17, and her sister Meghan, 15, died last Thursday night when the SUV they were riding in hit a utility pole.

A funeral Mass was held for the Algonquin Regional High School students at St. Matthew Church in Southborough.

A third teen, Melissa Smith, 15, of Northborough, Mass., was also in the car and survived.

It's not clear who was driving and the cause of the accident remains under investigation.

The Murphys have set up a scholarship fund in the name of their daughters. Contributions can be made to:
