A hospital investigation is under way Wednesday morning in Brockton, Mass., after a newborn was sent home, allegedly with a plastic catheter in her arm.

The unidentified 3-month-old had some blood tests done over the weekend at Brockton Hospital because she had a fever.

State officials are investigating how it could have happened.

The parents are considering a lawsuit.
