BOSTON -- The ex-wife of a former state trooper charged with attempted murder and drug trafficking took the stand again Monday and came clean about a personal life scarred by drugs and violence.
NewsCenter 5's Amalia Barreda reported that former Sgt. Timothy White, 42, is accused of stealing up to 27 pounds of cocaine and other drugs while he was assigned to the Narcotics Inspection Unit in 2002 and 2003.He's also charged with cocaine trafficking, marijuana and Ecstasy distribution, and attempted murder for allegedly holding his service pistol to Maura White's head in January 2003.
She identified the gun she said that her husband threatened to kill her with and revealed the details of a fight in which the couple slapped each other, she fell to the floor and he grabbed his service weapon from the safe."He put the gun in his own mouth and told me to look at him," she said. "He told me to look at him, that he wanted me to remember for the rest of my life. At that point, I told him I didn't care if he did it or not, but to take it someplace else so that the girls wouldn't be there and have to see it or hear it."She said that he then walked across the room, grabbed her face and threatened her."He grabbed my face with force. He put the gun in my mouth and said, 'Maybe I'll do you instead,'" she said.Maura White testified that she called 911 from a neighbor's house. Her husband was later arrested by police in Stoughton, Mass., but not before he got unto bed with his 6-year-old daughter and put the gun in his mouth again.Tim White's defense attorneys have tried to say that it was Maura White who was involved with drugs. She has been given immunity from prosecution in exchange for her testimony.
