BOSTON -- The wife of the former state trooper accused of abuse and stealing drugs from a police evidence room is expected to take the stand Friday.
NewsCenter 5's Pam Cross reported that the case against former Massachusetts State Police Sgt. Tim White involves 27 pounds of cocaine, marijuana, and the drug ecstasy. He is also accused of attempting to kill his wife after holding a gun to her head.Prosecutors claim he stole thousands of dollars worth of cocaine from state police custody while working in the narcotics unit.On the day he was arrested, Sgt. Lorraine Cambria picked up White's cruiser from his home."I saw a partially opened envelope that appeared to be a large amount of cash (in the car)," said Cambria. But a later inventory report never listed the cash in the glove box. Cambria admitted that a drug inventory after White's arrest was rushed, but she called it complete."As far I am aware, we found a particular amount of cases missing, so I thought, in my opinion personally, that it was done thoroughly, although it was harried at times where people where trying to find particular items in the book, and people were calling out numbers, people were going from one drawer to the next, you know, it was in that manner," she said.White's wife, Maura, is expected to testify Friday afternoon. She has been granted immunity by the prosecution.
