BOSTON -- The Brockton man charged with running a red light and hitting New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's car early Thursday has a long record of driving offenses in the state, according to the Registry of Motor Vehicles.

Ludgerio Rodrigues, 21, has a multiple license suspensions on his driving record, which is seven pages long.

Since 2006, records show, his license has been suspended at least four times because he had at least seven surchargeable incidents within three years.

Rodrigues record also shows that he had three seat belt violations and was caught several times without an inspection sticker or child car seats.

An amateur video shot at the Brady crash scene shows Rodrigues in the back seat of the red minivan that broadsided Brady's Audi, trying to help his father, Rogerio Rodrigues, 49, who had to be extracted from the vehicle by rescue workers using the Jaws of Life.

Rodrigues was not available for comment at his Brockton home Thursday night. His parents, three sisters and a younger brother live in Fall River. Neighbors there said he was driving his father to a Boston hospital when his car collided with Brady's.

"Medical issue, (his father) had a problem with his back. I don't know what was wrong with it, so he went for a checkup, I guess," said the family's Fall River landlord, Lucy Furtado.

He ended up in serious condition at Brigham & Women's Hospital.
