BOSTON -- An outpouring of grief is expected Wednesday in East Boston as a father of three is laid to rest, even as new details emerge about the senseless crime that took his life. The funeral for Richel Nova, 58, is scheduled to take place at Most Holy Redeemer Church. Hundreds of mourners turned out for Nova's wake Tuesday night.Michel Andre St. Jean, 20, Alexander Emmanuel Gallett, 18, and Yamiley Mathurin, 17, were arraigned in West Roxbury Municipal Court Tuesday and ordered held without bail.Prosecutors said they lured Nova to a vacant Hyde Park House over the weekend, robbed him and stabbed him to death, fleeing in his car with a bloody box of pizza.Boston Mayor Thomas Menino said he still cannot comprehend the slaying. Nova's twin daughters worked in the mayor's office at one time. Their father was working as a deliveryman to earn extra money to pay for their college expenses.
"These young girls are great little kids. I love 'em and it's one of those tragedies in life you just can't explain to anyone," Menino said."It was devastating. It's incredible what happened to him and it has hurt our community a lot," said family friend Gloria Inchasteguy.Investigators said the big break in the case came from surveillance cameras which showed the trio leaving the house with the box of pizza.
