An explosion at a New Hampshire campground left a Danvers, Mass. man with serious burn injuries over the weekend.

Conway fire officials said the 36-year-old man used Kerosene to start a campfire Saturday afternoon at the Pipe Trail Campground off Route 16 in Albany. As the man turned away, the Kerosene can in his hand exploded.

Paramedics treated the man at the scene for serious burn injuries to his chest, arms and legs. He was then airlifted from a nearby field to Maine Medical Center in Portland.

Authorities said the explosion was most likely caused by the ignition of vapors in the Kerosene can.
