BOSTON -- Two years later and again, just one day before the Boston Celtics play the Los Angeles Lakers in another critical Game 5, Ray Allen's young son was rushed to the hospital.

The guard's young diabetic son, Walker Allen, 3, suffered a bout of hypoglycemia early Saturday and had to be taken to Children's Hospital, causing his dad to pull an all-nighter right before the big game.

"His body just wasn't operating correctly," Allen said. "He wouldn't fall asleep and we couldn't let him fall asleep because his blood sugar was dipping into the 50s and 40s, and they're supposed to be somewhere above 90 to 200, somewhere around there."

Diagnosed with Type 1 juvenile diabetes on the morning of Game 5 of the 2008 NBA finals, it was like a bad dream coming back -- the 3-year-old facing another medical crisis before another important Game 5.

"I like Game 5, but I don't like Game 5," Allen said. "This is my job. This is my life. But my family is always my responsibility. I gotta always take care of them."

The good news was, Walker was out of the hospital and well enough to make it to Game 5, sitting courtside to cheer his daddy on.

"He doesn't like missing games," Allen said.

The family is still deciding whether the toddler will go to L.A. for Game 6.
