BOSTON -- Boston police have arrested a 15-year-old in connection with an attack on a lesbian couple in an East Boston park on the Fourth of July.
Newscenter 5's Mary Saladna reported that the alleged attack on Lisa Craig happened at the front entrance to East Boston's Pierce Park near an ice cream truck. Craig said a 15-year-old Hispanic girl attacked her after the teen and her friends allegedly bothered Craig, her partner and Craig's two daughters repeatedly, calling them names and taunting them with gender slurs.Craig said she was sucker punched, fell to the ground, and continually kicked by the teen. The teen will be charged with aggravated assault and battery and the Boston police will attach civil rights violations to her charges when she is formally arraigned in juvenile court on Wednesday. The victim, who has undergone two surgeries, believes the teen should be charged with attempted murder and robbery since the teen allegedly took Craig's purse, money and house keys.
