A Waltham woman is looking for ways to pay for the damage after her home was lifted off its foundation by the flood waters.

"They said that eventually we can move in," homeowner Maureen Flanagan said. "The house isn't condemned. That's wonderful. I am ecstatic. After that I want to cry."

Neither on a flood plain nor near a river or pond, her home still suffered serious structural damage from this week's nor'easter. The water shifted the house off its foundation.

The cracks are getting bigger each day. The door frames are out of whack, and mold is growing along damp walls. The basement floor continues bubbling up water. It all has to be fixed before Flanagan can move back in.

"I don't know what I am going to do. I don't know what I am supposed to do," she said.

FEMA and MEMA inspected the damage on Thursday. They are offering Flanagan a low-interest loan. A single mother of three, she said can't afford the loan.

"That's fine for somebody else, but financially I am not in a position to take on another loan. I can't afford another loan," Flanagan said.

The city is having her insurance policy reviewed to see if there are any loopholes to provide coverage.
