BOSTON -- A Brockton car wash owner vows to keep fighting after the state Land Court rejected his bid to keep artificial turf outside his business.Ronen Drory, who owns Prestige Car Wash on Pearl Street with his brothers, has been battling the city since 2008 after he installed artificial turf outside the business, the Enterprise reported. The city claims the turf, which cost Drory $20,000 to install, is not in line with the zoning ordinance for green space. The court ruled that the fake turf did not qualify as landscaping and "that live plant material is required.”Drory said living plants are not practical given his businesses location and will continue his fight to keep it.Drory can appeal the court ruling to the Appellate Court or go back to the Zoning Board of Appeals, seeking a variance.
