Teen Hit By Car, Run Over By Bus
15-Year-Old Hospitalized In Serious Condition

BOSTON -- A teenager hit by a car and thrown off of his bike, landing in the path of an oncoming school bus Tuesday in Swansea remained hospitalized.Justin Charron, 15, of Swansea, was on a bicycle just before 3 p.m. near 67 Bark St. in Swansea.Witnesses said Charron may have been wearing headphones when he was thrown into the path of the oncoming bus after he collided with a Buick, driven by Grace Santos, 70, of Swansea. Santos and her passenger remained at the scene to talk to investigators. Police do not expect to file any charges."He came into the middle of the street, and wasn't looking both ways. And a woman came and hit him, and he flipped over the hood of the car, and he flipped back in front of the bus," one witness said.Police said the bus driver could not avoid hitting the teen. Witnesses said bus driver Patricia Grennon, of Somerset, was devastated and in tears."The kid went right under the wheels of the bus and she couldn't stop. And (the bus driver) said the legs were very bad," another witness said.Police said Charron suffered severe leg and head injuries. He was flown to Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence, where he was last listed in serious condition.
