In Palmer Thursday morning, the ground search began with new confidence after the discovery Wednesday of more bones and clothing.

Video
Newscenter 5's David Boeri reported that investigators are now looking for what they call the point of origin -- point where the bones originated.

"Single arm interval... single arm interval," searchers were instructed by a lead investigator.

Along the road approximately a 1/4 mile south of where the swimsuit was found two weeks ago, investigators moved forward in the search, sifting through three years worth of leaves and litter, looking for any piece of evidence to add to the four bones already found.

On the side of the road where trash and litter is often found, a tee shirt taken Thursday may -- or may not -- have value in the investigation. This is the most thorough search of the area in three years by State Police and state environmental police. Anything of interest is taken, marked and tagged.

At last report, said Boeri, divers had not yet entered the Quabog River, but investigators are increasingly skeptical that that hair found last Saturday will have any significance in this case.

John and Magi Bish have become poster patents for parents who want to protect their children.

Just last week, the Bishes attended Massachusetts' Third Annual Missing Children's event and despite the latest developments in their daughter's disappearance, John Bish is planning appear this afternoon at the State House to support new legislation requiring all convicted felons to submit DNA samples for a special database.
