BOSTON -- No criminal charges will be filed in the death of a Somerville woman who was struck by a fire house on a passing truck, according to the victim's family.Gertrude King, 82, was struck by the nozzle of the hose when the hose bounced from Cambridge Fire Engine No. 2 on Jan. 26. King was standing on the median on Western Avenue waiting for the truck to pass. The victim's family said they hoped that her sudden death would not be in vain and that something would be done so that a loose fire hose couldn't harm or in this case kill again. They said the district attorney's office notified them Monday that no criminal charges would be filed in connection with King's death.
