BOSTON -- The MBTA's safety chief has been fired, Team 5 Investigates has learned.Sources told Team 5 that the firing has nothing to do with recent safety concerns raised at the T.Sources said the T fired Director of Safety Cynthia Gallo because she's accused of altering e-mails to make it appear that former General Manager Dan Grabauskas approved a pay raise for her.Gallo's attorney called her termination "completely outrageous" and said she'll do everything in her power to expose the truth and hold the MBTA accountable."She has served that organization with dedication for nearly 23 years, and to treat her this way is reprehensible, irresponsible and illegal," Gallo's attorney Inga Bernstein said.
