PALMER, Mass. -- Investigators combing a heavily wooded area of
Palmer for clues linked to missing lifeguard Molly Bish will be
back at work Wednesday.
Poor weather forced a postponement of Tuesday's scheduled
search.
The latest efforts follow the discovery of a blue and white
swimsuit that may have been worn by the 16-year-old almost three years
ago. Molly was 16 when she disappeared on June 27, 2000, as she
was preparing for her shift at Comins Pond in Warren, Mass.
Her father, John Bish, told the Boston Herald Wednesday that state
police detectives have asked about 20 individuals to voluntarily
provide DNA samples.
The samples would presumably be compared to any DNA extracted
from the swimsuit.
Bish said that all of the people asked to provide DNA have been
spoken to before in connection with the probe of his daughter's
disappearance.
Meanwhile, Molly's parents are expected to attend the third annual Missing Children's Day Ceremony in Boston.
They'll join the governor and Sen. Ted Kennedy as Massachusetts pauses to remember children who are missing and the families left behind.
It's estimated that nearly 800,000 children are reported missing nationwide each year.
