BOSTON -- A nationally-known psychiatrist claims an accused killer attacked him during a mental examination at a local jail on Thursday.Keith Luke, an alleged white supremacist who is charged with killing two people in Brockton last year, was being examined by Dr. Keith Ablow at the Plymouth House of Corrections on Thursday, according to Ablow. As soon as the two were left alone, Luke allegedly jumped over a desk and kicked Ablow in the head, knocking him to the ground, according to Ablow.Guards subdued Luke, who later said he wanted to kill Ablow because of his religion, according to Ablow.Ablow was not hurt and wanted to finish the exam, but guards did not allow it.Luke was already in the jail's highest level of security, or individual segregation, where inmates are in individual cells separate from general population, according to John Birtwell, of the Plymouth House of Corrections. After Thursday's incident, Luke will be placed under 24-hour surveillance, Birtwell said.Luke is awaiting trial for the January 2009 slayings of two people on Clinton Street in Brockton, including his former neighbor, Selma Goncalves, 20, and Arlindo Depina Goncalves, 72, a homeless man who was collecting cans. He is also accused of attacking and raping Selma Goncalves' sister. After his arrest, Luke allegedly told police he planned to kill as many Jews, blacks and "non-white" people as possible before turning the gun on himself.Ablow, a graduate of Brown University and the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, is on the faculty of New England Medical Center in Boston. He is a best-selling author and a regular contributor to national talk shows and cable news networks.
