There is a possible lead in the nearly three-year search for missing Massachusetts lifeguard Molly Bish after a swimsuit was found in a wooded area.

NewsCenter 5's Kelley Tuthill reported that the 16-year-old from Warren, Mass., was last seen at her job at a swim pond in 2000.

Her father confirmed the discovery of a bathing suit that resembles Molly's in woods about five miles away from where she disappeared.

A hunter in Palmer, Mass., found a blue bathing suit in the woods last week. He apparently didn't think much of it, but happened to mention his find to a Warren police officer.

Authorities went back to the woods and found a blue Speedo swimsuit with a white pattern. It matches the description of the one Molly was last seen wearing.

DNA tests are under way using a sample from Molly's mother, Magi, for comparison. Specially trained dogs also searched the area Monday but did not find any other signs of Molly. The next step will be a grid search of the area. There is a special team that performs this work, but they are out of state and will not be available for another week, Tuthill reported.

The teenager disappeared after her mother dropped her off at Commins Pond, where Molly worked as a lifeguard.
