Woman May Have Worn Wig, Stitches To Mask Identity

BOSTON -- Police in Mansfield are looking for a woman they said robbed a bank on Thursday afternoon.Police said a woman went into the North Easton Savings Bank on Copeland Drive and handed a teller a note demanding cash at about 5:20 p.m. on Thursday.The woman was given an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot, police said.The woman was described as a black, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing about 140 to 160 pounds with shoulder-length straight black hair, police said. The woman may have been wearing a wig, police said. She was wearing dark pants, a 3/4 length black jacket and gray scarf, police said.The woman also had two white butterfly-type adhesive stitches on her right cheek which may have been an attempt to distract witnesses from being able to recall her physical features, police said.Anyone with information is asked to contact Mansfield Detective Michael Ellsworth at 508-261-7300.
