Plaque Stolen From Lexington's Battle Green

BOSTON -- A reward is being offered after a bronze plaque that marked the start of the American Revolution was stolen from a memorial at Lexington's Battle Green.The plaque was stolen Thursday from the Belfry, which was used on April 19, 1775, to sound the alarm at the beginning of the American Revolution, according to Wicked Local Lexington.Three local businesses are offering a $1,000 reward for the return of the Old Belfry plaque or for information that leads to its return.The plaque can be returned to the Stone Meadow Golf Course at 675 Waltham St.Officials said the person who stole it may try to sell it as scrap metal.
