BOSTON -- A 53-year-old Medway man died at the hospital after he was hit by a car in Millis on Friday night, police said.

Joseph Crump, 53, of 1 Cassidy Lane, was struck while he was walking across Village Street at about 8:49 p.m. He was taken by ambulance to Millis Regional Hospital with severe injuries, then transported to the UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, where he died at about 10:29 p.m.

Crump was struck near 407 Village St. by a car driven by Laurie A. Payne, 42, of Millis, police said.

The crash remains under investigation, and the Massachusetts State Police collision analysis and reconstruction team is assisting.
