WATERTOWN, Mass. -- More dead cats have apparently been found in the Watertown home of a cat breeder evicted from her Beacon Hill apartment for storing dead cats there.
Watertown police executed a search warrant at Heidi Erickson's new home Wednesday afternoon and said they found 12 more cats dead and frozen along with 52 live felines. It was immediately unclear why Watertown police obtained the warrant, with some reports that neighbors had complained about a smell or seeing large numbers of cats in the windows. Other reports stated that the police had been advised by Boston authorities about Erickson's Beacon Hill apartment.Neighbors interviewed said they were suprised that police found so many cats in the apartment. The live cats have reportedly been taken to animal shelters in Boston and Pembroke. The discovery comes a week after Boston inspectors condemned Erickson's Charles Street apartment where they found 60 dead and frozen cats, as well as medicine and needles.
