BOSTON -- A local attorney who was once People magazine's hottest bachelor and was also accused of raping teenage girls is running the Boston Marathon to raise money for rape victims, the Herald's Inside Track reported.

Zerola was acquitted last year of rape and attempted rape in cases involving Boston-area women.

He was also accused of raping an 18-year-old woman in Miami, but that case was later dropped.

Zerola was one of People's 50 most eligible bachelors in 2001.
