A Hingham man was accused of biting off pieces of a man's ear during a fight Saturday.

Andrew MacDonald, 19, was charged with two counts of mayhem, according to the Patriot Ledger.

Police were called to South Shore Hospital at 12:30 a.m., where the victim said he was in a fight with MacDonald on Bridge Street in North Weymouth, the paper reported.

Friends who witnessed the fight retrieved pieces of the victim's ear and brought him to the hospital. He was later transferred to a Boston hospital.

MacDonald was released on $10,000 bail and scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Quincy District Court.
