BOSTON -- At least two students were arrested Friday during a sit-in protest at Cape Cod Regional Technical High School. Students held the protest to call attention to the way school administrators and some teachers chose to discipline students, according to the Cape Cod Times.Tom Wordell, 18, of Harwich, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and vandalizing school property. A female juvenile was charged with disorderly conduct and disturbing a school assembly, the newspaper reported.A 15-year-old girl who attends the school accused two male students of touching her breasts last month while in class. The girl went to the dean of students at the Harwich school to report the incident.The girl's mother became dissatisfied with the way the school was handling the incident and called police, the paper reported.She said her daughter was also harassed by students who were upset that she reported the incident. She said others are upset at the way the administration treats students.Cape Cod Regional Technical High School Principal William Terranova defended the dean's actions and said the school followed procedures in the school handbook.The dean has 10 days to investigate the allegations and 15 days to notify school officials, according to the Times.
