BOSTON -- A local priest was at Fort Hood when the shooting rampage happened, and the Milton chaplain has been counseling the victims since.He described the day to NewsCenter 5's Bianca de la Garza."I was standing in front of right of nine dead people," Milton Chaplain Edward McCabe said.McCabe rushed to the hospital after he finished noon Mass."There were cleaning people mopping up blood on floor," McCabe said. He prayed with wounded soldiers and gave last rites to the dead."I mean, I had never seen such carnage," he said. "They were all over the floor. Tipped-over chairs and blood everywhere -- I mean it was this diabolical scene that I was present for. And then I said to myself, 'I can't let this evil environment control me.'"McCabe could not help thinking about his how just six days before he was in Boston talking to Cardinal Sean O'Malley"And I said to him, 'There is a hostile feeling that I have to resign,'" McCabe said. "Just had this premonition of this evil presence."McCabe never met the alleged shooter and is prohibited from talking about his thoughts on him.McCabe was stationed at Fort Hood this past spring and said he knows now why God sent him there.
