BOSTON -- A psychiatrist who was repeatedly stabbed by a patient at her office near Massachusetts General Hospital last month is expected to return to her Belmont home on Monday, according to her husband.Dr. Astrid Desrosiers was hospitalized with multiple stab wounds on Oct. 27 after her patient, Jay Carciero, went on a rampage inside her office building on Staniford Street.Carciero was shot by off-duty security guard Paul Langone, who rushed to Desrosier's aide. The 37-year-old father of four died following the shooting.Dr. Roy Perlis, a colleague at the Bipolar Clinic and Research Program where the incident took place, said last week that Desrosiers plans to resume her work at the clinic once she recovers. Her comment was that 'I'm ready to go back, not immediately, but I plan to come back to work, I plan to go to my office, I plan to close my door, I plan to see patients," Perlis said.Perlis and other doctors at the clinic are covering her patients while she's gone and they say her patients miss her greatly.
