The father of a young cancer patient who died after his mother allegedly withheld his medication has died after a Malden motorcycle crash.

Eric Fraser, 38, was hospitalized in the intensive care unit of Massachusetts General Hospital after the crash near 626 Highland Avenue on Oct. 25. The Essex County District Attorney's Office said Fraser was taken off life support Thursday night.

Fraser and a Peabody man were riding their motorcycles on a curvy stretch of the road shortly before 10:30 p.m. when they crashed, according to the Daily Item of Lynn.

The Peabody man was killed in the crash.

Fraser's 9-year-old autistic son, Jeremy Fraser, died in March after a three-year battle with cancer. The boy's mother, Kristin LaBrie, is currently awaiting trial for attempted murder and child endangerment, among other charges.

Fraser said his ex-wife failed to give their son medication and kept him from doctors' appointments.
