A 24-year-old man has been charged in connection with an assault in Allston.

A 21-year-old woman was walking near 43 Park Vale Ave. when a Hispanic man grabbed her by the arm, according to police. She was able to get away and call Boston police.

While police were investigating, they were called to a report of another attempted abduction on Park Vale. A 26-year-old woman was walking her dog when a Hispanic man with a knife tried to grab her, according to police.

Luiz Martinez was arrested, and both women identified him as their attacker, police said.

"She said he came at her with a stabbing motion toward her stomach. She described the knife as a steak knife with an orange handle," prosecutor John Seed said.

Martinez was arraigned Monday in Brighton District Court and charged with assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
