BOSTON -- Police have identified a 24-year-old Lincoln man as the suspect in an armed robbery that prompted a Boston SWAT team to storm an academic building earlier this week.

Akil Washington is accused of robbing a Northeastern University student at gunpoint inside a dormitory at 454 Huntington Ave. on Wednesday during a purported drug deal. Washington allegedly stole a laptop from the student at about 11 p.m., then fled the building on foot.

The student notified Northeastern University police of the robbery, and a Boston Police SWAT team was called to a nearby Wentworth Institute building at 550 Parker St. a few hours later after a campus police officer reported hearing a voice inside the building. The laptop was recovered inside, but the suspect was not found.
