CHELSEA, Mass. -- Employees at a local pharmacy got a scare Monday night when a worker discovered brown capsules inside an open bag of candy which was lying on the floor.
The find prompted hazmat teams to be brought in to test the pills and several workers went to the hospital to get checked after saying they felt sick.NewsCenter 5's Gail Huff reported that the store was evacuated as a precaution and then closed. It remained closed early Tuesday morning, although health officials have given the store permission to reopen. The employee who found the capsules boiled them to try to learn what they were and sometime after that several workers complained that they felt sick and were experiencing numbness in their mouths and fingers.Authorities still haven't determined what the brown substance inside the capsules was but believe it was harmless.
