Tammy Mattera-Housa was a mother with a wild side. After all, it only took a dollar for her to run down a neighborhood street wearing only boxer shorts during a blizzard this past winter.

Mattera-Housa, 29, was a certified personal trainer at two Cranston gyms, Lady of America and Body Language. Her dream was to open her own gym and design a fitness regimen for women and girls.

She doted on her boys, ages 9 and 2. It was rare for her to leave them and go out, even though she had recently moved in with her parents in Warwick.

When she heard that Great White would be playing at The Station, however, she decided to go with a friend. It was a band she'd always loved. She told her husband she'd be back by midnight. The friend survived the fire.

"I believe she didn't get out because she was helping," her husband, Jaromir Housa, told The Providence Journal. "I know her personality. She was helping."
