Thomas Marion's heart may have been with the music he was
making, but the guitarist's mind was focused solely on his job.
He told his boss at Wal-Mart about his band only a couple of
times, and that he had gone a few times to shows at The Station in
West Warwick. He didn't share many details, however.
"It didn't matter what he had on his plate for the day. He did
whatever he had to do," Kendra Goodwin, an assistant manager at
the Raynham, Mass. store, told The Providence Journal.
Marion, 27, of Westport, Mass., had been with Wal-Mart for six
years and had become a furniture department manager.
He was a 1994
graduate of Diman Regional Vocational Technical School, where he
had specialized in furniture and cabinet making.
A teacher, Ronald Silvia Jr., remembered Marion as a quiet
teenager with a slight frame and bushy hair.
"He was a good kid," Silvia said. "Never any trouble."
