Edward Corbett was of the giving kind. His family remembers he
would give homeless people a dollar and a few cigarettes.
He also
was a shoo-in for buying ice cream for his nephews and nieces
"He was compassionate," Mike Eaton, Fontaine's stepfather,
told The Providence Journal. "People on the street you would shun
or ignore, Eddie would go right up to them and talk to them."
Corbett, 31, and his brother, Shawn, were self-employed
plasterers for Classic Interiors of Narragansett. They plastered
several mansions in Newport and were perfectionists about their
work.
"Ed hated people who didn't do things professionally, who
didn't care," Shawn Corbett said, "because he cared."
Edward Corbett lived in West Warwick. He loved to surf,
skateboard and hang out at Narragansett Beach.
He always wore a
baseball cap, his family said, even to his brother's wedding.
